Skippack Twp, 1763 (Wentz' Church)

Grace & Peace to the Kind Reader!

The Evangelic Reformed Congregation in Skippack found themselves necessitated for building of a House of Worship by Reason of the Great Distance they have to Church or meeting, wich is six miles and more; Therefore Old & Young Persons were by that Reason deprived to devote them-selves in pious exercises on Sabbath_Days; and other Suitable Times ________ The Members of the Congregation therefore thought it to be their indispensibleDuty to do all in their Power to erect a House of Worship, that their Youth might be the better brought up in the Nurture of the Lord and to the Praise of His Holy Name, ___ And alltho the members of the aforesd Congregation have in Brotherly Love & Union largely contributed towards the Building of their Meetinghouse in Skippack aforesd and Nothing needless being expended upon the same __ Nevertheless they find themselves obliged to apply to the Charitable Benevolence of all wel disposed Christians, to contribute their Mite towards the finishing of the Said Meeting House according to their good will and Abilities __ Knowing that the Lord will richly reward all
Such Charitable Giftsor Alms, Which are given with a simplicit Heart towards such and the like undertakings, acknowledging ourselves in Duty bound to be assistant in the like manner when We are Called upon for the Same. __ Worcester Township in the County of Philadelphia September 28, 1763
