• Family Origin. Brantse Peelen Van Nieukerke is listed in the holland Society year Book for 1896 p. 130 under the Settlers of Rensselaerswyck between 1630 and 1646 is styled a migistrate and it states that he died before June 14, 1644, leaving two daughters Elizabeth and Geertje, who married Goosen Gerritsen Van Schaick. On July 30, 1643 he made a marriage contract with Maritje Peters, widow of Claes Sybroutsen who must have been his second wife.
