Jacob married Esther Stauffer on 29 May 1760. (Esther Stauffer was born on 9 Jun 1732 in Perkiomen Township, Pennsylvania.)

bullet  Marriage Notes:

She was born on May 29, 1732 in Perkiomen, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. They had Christian Treichler, Isaac, Henry and Mary who was born March 22, 1772. Her father was Jacob Hiestand Stauffer and her mother was Barbara Buckwalter

Stauffer means a chalice or drinking cup. As late as A.D. 1100 they were cup bearers of dukes. According to tradition the Stauffers owe their origin to a generation of Knights called Stauffacher at Hohenstauffer. It is presumed that all of the Stauffers have the same origin and are connected and have their origin from the House of Hohenstauffer founded by Fredric of Buren. Then it goes into the history and life of Henry the 4th and 5th. Then it goes to say: It is said three brothers came to America settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They were potters along the Rhine and made fine china and porcelain ware in Alsace, France and Germany. In America they expected to find a superior quality of clay and came here to establish a china plant. This did not turn out as expected. They turned their attention to milling and farming. http://stauffercemetery.tripod.com/1929.html
