• Physical Description: about five feet one inch. Laura Roberts was a little woman about five feet one inch. She was always pleasant, greeting us at the door with, Come in, Come in. The Stanley home was a fun place to go for the holidays. The table was stretched out full length across the big kitchen and was filled with goodies. Laura always had candy and cookies available. She had hired men to feed, so a lot of the times she also had a hired girl to help her cook.

Laura married Monroe Morris Stanley, son of Monroe K. Stanley and Cordelia A. Morris, on 15 Aug 1888 in Lancaster, Nebraska.² (Monroe Morris Stanley was born on 14 Mar 1864 in Lake County, Illinois, died on 19 Jul 1935 in Haxtun, Phillips County, Colorado and was buried in Haxtun Cemetery, Haxtun, Phillips County, Colorado.)
