• Occupation: teacher. Laura Roberts passed the Nebraska teachers exam and got a job teaching at the Barkey School. Clithro Barkey was one of her students

• Physical Description: about five feet one inch. Laura Roberts was a little woman about five feet one inch. She was always pleasant, greeting us at the door with, Come in, Come in. The Stanley home was a fun place to go for the holidays. The table was stretched out full length across the big kitchen and was filled with goodies. Laura always had candy and cookies available. She had hired men to feed, so a lot of the times she also had a hired girl to help her cook.
