• Moved, 1827. In about 1827, I moved my family to Ohio after suffering through three extremely cold seasons in Canada where my stock perished and my crops failed to mature. We first sailed to Peelee Island in Lake Erie where we settled for a time with other white families and many Indians. The land was heavily timbered and we had to endure many hardships and deprivation in order to survive.
• Moved, 1852. In 1852, we moved to North Bass Island.
